Prepare for Your Career as a Certified Dental Assistant
At Frisco Advanced Dental Assisting School, our hands-on, comprehensive program is designed to prepare you for success in the dental field — starting with an entry-level position and opening doors to future opportunities. Over 10 weeks, you’ll learn the skills needed to assist chairside with a dentist, sterilize equipment and instruments, perform lab work, expose and mount X-rays, assist hygienists, schedule appointments, and help manage many aspects of a dental office.
Program Structure
Our program combines 4.5 hours of flexible, self-paced online learning each week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday — 1.5 hours each day) with 2 hours of in-person, hands-on training every Sunday. This blended approach ensures you master both the theory and the practical skills needed in today’s dental offices.
Duration: 10 weeks
Hours per Week: 6.5 hours (4.5 hours online + 2 hours in-person)

Weekly Curriculum Overview
Chapter 1: Orientation & Foundations of Digital Dentistry
This chapter introduces students to the program, outlining expectations and your role as a dental assistant. You’ll explore dental terminology, anatomy, charting basics, and gain an introduction to chairside technology, digital workflows, and dental software platforms.
Chapter 2: Infection Control & OSHA Compliance
This chapter focuses on infection control and safety in a digital practice. You’ll learn sterilization techniques, barrier placement, PPE usage, HIPAA compliance, and foundational four-handed dentistry principles.
Chapter 3: Radiology & CT Imaging Essentials
This chapter covers radiology and CT imaging essentials. You’ll discover proper digital X-ray techniques, CBCT scanning, anatomy identification, and safe, accurate positioning for high-quality imaging.
Chapter 4: iTero & Intraoral Scanning
This chapter is dedicated to iTero and intraoral scanning. You’ll explore its applications in dentistry, practice hands-on scanning, and learn how to upload, share, and review digital files for case planning.
Chapter 5: Orthodontic Assisting & Digital Invisalign Workflow
Chapter 6: Implantology – Surgical Assisting Basics
This chapter introduces implantology and surgical assisting basics. You’ll learn sterile field setup, instrument preparation, implant anatomy, and patient monitoring for surgical procedures.
Chapter 7: Guided Surgery & X-Guide Navigation
This chapter expands on implantology with X-Guide navigation. You’ll see how digital guidance integrates with surgical workflows for precision and assist in guided surgery preparation.
Chapter 8: Advanced Chairside Techniques
This chapter enhances your chairside techniques in both four- and six-handed dentistry. You’ll refine ergonomics, instrument passing, suctioning, and chairside communication.
Chapter 9: Restorative & Cosmetic Procedure Support
This chapter focuses on restorative and cosmetic procedures. You’ll assist with fillings, crowns, veneers, whitening, and post-operative care while enhancing patient education skills.
Chapter 10: Externship Preparation & Career Readiness
This chapter prepares students for externship and career readiness. Students will participate in a complete mock procedure, receive resume and interview guidance, and review externship expectations to confidently transition into a professional dental setting.
