Pre-Op Instructions
Pre-Op Instructions for Oral Surgery in Frisco, TX
At Frisco Dental Implant Center, we want to ensure that you feel informed and fully prepared for your upcoming oral surgery. Below are our pre-op instructions to help make your procedure as safe and smooth as possible.
General Pre-Op Guidelines
Adult Supervision Required: Please have a responsible adult (18 years or older) accompany you on the day of your surgery. We recommend they stay at our office for the duration of your procedure.
Fasting Instructions:
If your surgery is scheduled in the morning with moderate sedation, do not eat or drink anything, including water, after midnight.
For afternoon surgeries, do not eat or drink for at least six hours before your appointment.
An empty stomach is critical for patient safety under anesthesia.
Medication Guidelines
Regular Medications: Take all prescribed medications as directed with a small sip of water.
Antibiotics: If prescribed, take the antibiotic one hour prior to your appointment.
Diabetic Patients: Please notify us ahead of time so we can help manage medication and dosage adjustments.
Pain Relievers: If you take more than two regular aspirin (such as Motrin, Advil, or ibuprofen) regularly, inform our office for additional instructions.
Day of Surgery
Wear loose, short-sleeved clothing to allow easy access to your upper arm for blood pressure monitoring.
If you are feeling ill or experiencing symptoms before your surgery, contact our office immediately for further guidance.
